<- Call for a People-led Covid-19 Global Investigation
In a recent media release the Australian TGA sought to downplay the concerns about Covid-19 vaccine safety stating:
- The protective benefits of vaccination far outweigh the potential risks.
- All Covid-19 vaccines approved in Australia have been vigorously assessed and meet our high standards of safety, quality and efficacy.
- The TGA has yet to establish a causal link between Covid-19 vaccines and any type of cancer.
- Evidence from the more than 13 billion vaccine doses given worldwide shows that COVID-19 vaccines have a very good safety profile in all age groups.
- The benefits of the approved vaccines far outweigh the possible risks.
On the other hand, Russell Broadbent MP for Monash sent a letter, co-signed by 52 eminent Australians, urging Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to suspend all further Covid-19 vaccination until the safety concerns are addressed.
"Unlike the Thalidomide tragedy, which resulted in 10,000 victims globally, the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to more than 20 million Australians, totalling 63 million doses. The contamination detected in these vaccines, if not addressed, presents a substantial risk, with the potential for these dangers - such as genomic integration and potential long-term health impacts - to multiply with each additional dose administered. Immediate action through a suspension of these products is critical to mitigate further risk. " Letter to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
