In regard to the Albanese government's Misinformation Bill, which of the following two opinions do you agree with most:

Opinion 1: Should be Enacted: It is a necessary law, which provides the means by which the government can protect the public from misinformation and disinformation. This legislation should be enacted as a matter of urgency.

Opinion 2: Should be Abandoned: It is another example of government overreach, which will perpetuate the pandemic era narrative that government bureaucrats know best. Rather than protecting the public, it will stifle free speech and, more broadly, undermine democratic processes and should, therefore, be immediately abandoned.

___

While this is clearly an Australian issue, global feedback is welcome given that similar action is being undertaken in other countries by government enacting similar legislation.
